I love this time of year, fresh starts and new beginnings for some and challenges and new year resolutions are put into place. Make sure this year you save some time for you and get that wardrobe updated to help make you feel confident and good about yourself. If you are planning to get a promotion or go back into the work place after being at home due to being a mum for example, it's worth getting some advice on what suits your body shape and what is the right looks for the season, colours and appropriate styles of clothing for your lifestyle. This in turn will make a huge difference to how people judge you and how you feel about yourself.

New Seasons stock is arriving and the sales racks are hidden at the back of the store...we are over the old and ready for the NEW!!! Winter stock is showing glimpses of all things leather, thigh high boots, studs, zips, padded and embellished shoulders, jumpsuits, harem pants, short boxy mini's, pencil skirts and jackets, jackets and more jackets! It's very hard to imagine living in this hot climate that down south a thigh high boot will be worn by every fashionista as there every day shoe. I have focused this Seasons tips on what is practical for us girls living in the tropics and added a touch of winter for those " not " so cold days!

Ciao for now Pip

INSPIRATION'S......
Spots and Stripes

Spots and Stripes are still very strong this season and are great for classic looks back with denim. Dresses and skirts are also a great choice and give you a fresh and youthful appearance. Careful when deciding on the print, big spots, little spots and stripes can be great at hiding imperfections but can also make you appear bigger so try on a few styles before buying to see which one suits your shape.
Maxi Dress

Maxi dresses are perfect for the tropics and are easy to dress up or down. They suit most shapes, by adding a belt if you are heavier through the thigh will emphasise your small waist. If you are busty then wear one with straps and show off your cleavage. Big arms?? wear a long necklace to draw attention to the centre. Look for straighter cuts though as some maxi's can have a lot of material in the skirt and can look like your in a tent.
Harem Pants

Have been in stores for the last few seasons and are now becoming more popular with mainstream. You will find they are so comfortable and look hot with heels and ankle boots (our boot for the tropics), shirts for work and slouchy tees, vests and blingy tops for night. The jumpsuit is also another modern statement and is great for when you are running late....all you do is add accessories! Look out for 3/4 pants there back!!
Denim

Ripped, holes, zips and studs its all happening with denim. If you are the more conservative type, don't worry there are toned down versions for you also. If rips and holes are not your thing then a good fitting pair of jeans is a must for the cooler months and with a tee and padded shoulder jacket (hot look right now) you will be ready for any occasion.
Accessories

Hosiery is going to be big for winter so get those legs out and show them off. Another big thing is gloves!! Jewellery is still very much chunky and eye catching. Also check out www.handbagfetish.com.au gorgeous handbags and clutches for every occasion and is local !
Don't forget that ModernStyle Gift Vouchers are available so if you are thinking of the perfect gift for someone or even yourself hint hint...Mothers Day is around the corner, Birthdays or Anniversaries, any occasion is a good reason to get some help to guide you into making you look your best!
